We were filming a piece about the West Sussex PCT, so we had a day filming around the county, from up in the South Downs to down on the beach. And it was such a glorious sunny day, hardly felt like work.

This morning I called up a client for a catch up this morning and was greeted with “I was going to call you today, I have a new project for you…” That’s never bad to hear!
Earlier in the year we created a clip filmed on the last day of exams at Kaplan Law school. We cut the footage into a film for Kaplan to show law firms interested in sending graduate trainees on their courses. They now want us to edit the material for a student facing clip to attract students to the course. Just shows how versatile video is, one day’s filming can create a whole range of different films.

Yesterday we shot at Worthing Hospital for a piece on West Sussex PCT.
We got to film a plaster cast being sawn off, people reviewing X-rays, plus lots of very technical looking equipment. Wonder how much will make the final cut?!

Today we filmed the students of Kaplan Law School as they finished their last exam. The School is based down in Borough and offers GDL, LPC and BVC legal training.
The students were in high spirits as they’d just finished their final exam and were more than willing to speak to us about their time at the school. They seemed to very much like the Kaplan style of traditional lectures rather than online learning.
The footage is going to be put together into a clip to promote the school.

We flew over to Rotterdam to film an interview with Vopack for Capgemini. Vopack started off back in the 17th century as a transportation company. Over the years, they’ve focused their core business into chemical and oil storage and transportation. They have 80 terminals in 32 countries, and it’s highly likely the gallon of petrol you put in your car has been through one of them!
The film is about a collaboration between Vopack, Capgemini and Oracle. We’ll post the film when it’s finished.
One nice thing about Rotterdam is that it has a huge amount of public art, which I saw on a walk in the evening and on the cab journeys around the city.

Last Friday we streamed the Digital Britain conference.
It was a really interesting event, some great speakers. One interesting comment came from Jess Search, Chief Executive, Channel 4 Documentary Film Foundation, who said a recent MORI poll showed that while people valued documentary content almost as highly as fiction content, they were willing to spend only a fraction of their money to watch it. Another from Lynne Brindley, Chief Executive of British Library, who said that children have vast access to information, but they lack the ability to judge the quality of that data.
The highlight for us, however, was being snapped by Stephen Fry, who posted the shot through his Twitter. You can see us bottom right with the camera.

We filmed at the All Together Now conference for the DIUS earlier in the year, turning the footage into a clip to be added to the project’s .ning site. Here’s the finished piece.
My favourite speaker is Ruby Pesudo, who features around 2 minutes in.

Today we streamed the Norfolk Green Strategy conference from the King’s Centre in Norfolk, so participants unable to attend in person could still engage with the conference.
Norfolk is under great pressure from global warming, given that even a relatively small rise in sea levels will flood areas of East Anglia. This pressure is ever increasing since Scientists revise their estimates of how quickly this will happen on a seemingly monthly basis, and not in our favour.
Sometimes, the mounting evidence of how the Earth is really going into meltdown gets overwhelming, so it was inspiring to hear positive ideas of how we can rethink how we live our lives to be have less impact on the environment.
The key moment for me was when asked whose responsibility was it to lead climate change, the room was unanimous that it was our responsibility as individuals to be more environmentally conscious, not something that should be left to government.
The leaf is one of the pledges that attendees made to signify their intention to help address these issues.

Yesterday we filmed at the All Together Now conference, which was held at Channel 4 in Westminster.
I’ve always loved their idents where the C4 logo is revealed in rock faces/pylons/tower blocks. While many of those logos are digitially created, they’ve created a real one outside their offices. It’s playful, clever and sophisticated, everything that I associate with C4. And appropriately for our filming it was raining, so the umbrellas were dripping!
If you click on the photo, you’ll be able to see a series of pictures showing how logo is actually nothing like the straight forward “4″ shape it looks in this photo!

Last week we filmed a conference for Norfolk County Council, at which Meera Spillett was the keynote speaker.
The key discussion topic throughout the day was the CAF, a process used to co-ordinate child support services. It was really uplifting hearing talk of how this process has helped children facing a wide range of challenges.
This project is part of our ConferenceXtra, the new service we’re providing in collaboration with Gallomanor, one of our long standing clients. We aim to help bring conferences to as wide an audience as possible, through streaming and social media.
