We’ve just completed a piece for Commetric, who do some really interesting work connecting communications with business activities. We produced a voice over with music for a powerpoint presentation.
As it was our first job we did for them, we asked for a little feedback. Here’s what Chris Shaw, CEO of Commetric, wrote:
“As someone who has never done any form of production – where to start/what to do/what is involved were a complete fog. So we looked for speed and understanding; prepared to listen to the brief and develop it. No technical jargon.
You gave good customer service – accessible – provided advise and a series of options; you seemed to get what we wanted extremely quickly and delivered a great result.”
Great to hear that kind of feedback! I think the reason we do is because we listen to our clients, ask a whole load of questions to make sure we understand what they’re after before starting work. Of course, there are times when we make suggestions in a different direction, but the most important thing to do is listen to what the client has in their mind at the start.

This morning I called up a client for a catch up this morning and was greeted with “I was going to call you today, I have a new project for you…” That’s never bad to hear!
Earlier in the year we created a clip filmed on the last day of exams at Kaplan Law school. We cut the footage into a film for Kaplan to show law firms interested in sending graduate trainees on their courses. They now want us to edit the material for a student facing clip to attract students to the course. Just shows how versatile video is, one day’s filming can create a whole range of different films.

We’ve just finished a film showing off Motasem’s latest collection of dresses, shot and directed by Abbie Lucas. Sabina Ali, founder of Motasem, asked us to film the stills shoot which she commissioned for her marketing materials.
Shot at the breathtaking Lordship Park, Abbie chose a starburst filter to give the film that soft, glowing effect.

We were asked to film FT columnist Alan Cane talking about business evoltion in tough times, so what better place to shoot it than at the Natural History Museum?
Alan talked about how a tough financial climate can be a change agent for business, but this need not be a negative influence.

Today we delivered some clips to support a client’s bid for a new contact. We were cutting together video material from various sources plus some new material into three video clips as part of their support material. We got some great feedback from the client!
“These all look fantastic to me – really great job guys!! They will make a tremendous difference to our sales efforts and we will certainly use some of them on Friday, plus the others in the weeks to come.
PS we received today an RFI for a similar scope of work, and have already spoken to the acct mgr about using some of these in our response there as well.”

We’ve recently completed this piece for Capgemini’s Healthcare department. For it we filmed in Great Ormond Street Hospital, interviewing Prof Hindmarsh who developed a new way of working with children with diabetes.
We had confidentiality issues filming in the Hospital itself, made doubly hard by it being a children’s ward. However, the staff were friendly and very supportive, even if some were extremely camera shy!

We were asked by a client to reproduce a title sequence. We thought we could improve on what they had, and here’s what we created for them. Graphics always make a really big impact on any video project, and can have a great impact on the “quality feel” of a project.
What was the client’s response? “logo works great… btw you rock”

Here’s a piece we’ve just finished for Capgemini, filmed at Le Manoir near Oxford.
The C4 Advisory Board meets once a year to discusss the issue of convergence within the Technology, Media and Entertainment sector. Would love to have sat in on the meeting!
We’re particularly chuffed with this because it looks so lush, with the virbrantly coloured foliage. It was very convenient that the one contributor had a purple tie, and another wore a purple jacket, which perfectly matched the graphics treatment!

Clients always want their content branded and too often we see static graphics stuck thoughtlessly like an elastoplast over the video content.
We always advise clients to make sure they budget for animated graphics because when you’re creating a video, anything that static always jars. Using animation to bringing brand/product logos to life is the simplest and most cost effective way to really raise a video’s production value. These brand animations build into a library for future projects, so next time around will cost nothing.
A little spent on animation will make the whole video look and feel slicker, more expensive and gives the branding much greater impact, as you can see in the work we’ve done for our clients below.
Be sure to hit the “HD on” tag to see it at its best!

We recently did a job for the Ministry of Justice, where we took material that they shot at some of their Governence of Britain meetings, and cut it down to short sequences. You can read about the events here.
The clips are now live:
