Today we interviewed Tom Watson, Cabinet Office Minister, for the Blogging documentary. We seemed to spend a lot of time talking about parsnips…
The with Steve Webb, Member of Parliament for Northavon and Lib Dem Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Energy, Food and Rural Affairs, we chatted about how he had to convince facebook that he actually was the real Steve Webb!

Today we filmed a wonderful new play, written by one of NC’s regular collaborators, Ciaran McConville.
Ciaran has a wonderful way with dialogue; he manages to tread that line between the realistic and magical, it’s neither forced nor banal. The small studio at the Trafalgar was a perfect setting for the play, made you feel like you’re in the living room with the characters.
I’d recommend getting tickets for the show, but don’t take my work for it, here’s a quote from the Independent’s review:
Ciaran McConville’s play Snowbound is a touching, emotionally astute piece of work. Aided by splendid performances from Sam Hazeldine as the warm, self-sacrificing tower of strength who is pushed beyond the limits of his endurance and from Karl Davies as the agonised idiot savant with the overloaded psychological circuits, it takes a situation that could easily subside into cliché and gives it freshly painful life.

Today we filmed an interview with Mary Reid, who chatted about her exploits as a blogger. She’s an engaging speaker and very down to earth. I think the interview will make a great contribution to the CivicSurf documentary we’re making.

We’ve just finished a piece on Capgemini’s annual CIO Survey.
Jo Coppins, Marketing Manager at Capgemini Consulting, said of the finished film:
“We are all very pleased with the video – I like the way it gives glimpses into the office environment at Capgemini. Also you have made Ivar and Julie come across very well – human, in touch and thoughtful.”
It’s always nice to get unprompted feeback like that!

This is me on the train on the way home, having realised I forgot to take any pics while actually on the shoot. Darn.
We had a good day, though extreme winds prevented us from working outside, which was a shame. We were in Haddiscoe, a pretty little village in South Norfolk, where someone has submitted plans to create a gravel pit within a stone’s throw of an old Church. The environmental impact would be severe.
You can read more about the issue here:
And you can read more about the content of the filming at the Cllr 2.0 blog.

It’s utterly relentless here. We’ve just finished the CIO project and we’re straight on to another one for Capgemini.
Sometimes you have to remember to focus on the details, because they can be lost when you’re trying to get all the work out the door at the same time. Quality control is something that we’ve learned is an essential thing: without it, there’s no point doing the work.

So I found these in Tescos, buy-one-get-one-free.
Think they might make good toys to send out to promote the company, but not sure whether to or not. I don’t think they’re great for new business, but they might make nice “thank yous” to regular clients.
Any opinions?
(PS when you squeeze their ears they bark!)

Last week we did the easiest-going shoot I’ve ever done. We were filming a massage video for a new tool developed by Una Tucker of KML. We had two cameras, one on a steadicam. Filming the steadicam footage did make me go a bit dizzy at one time as I followed Una’s rythmic movements
See all the photos from the shoot here!
